Transformers Titles in Cinema 4D
This is a simple setup for imitation of the Transformers effect in Cinema 4D using Explosion FX. It is not the same animation butt is close to the original and is rendering very fast and ones build the setup you can put everything like text and logos inside.

Hello ! Thanks for this amazing tuts ! I have made the part on C4D, but the problem is on AE, after import. I am french I don’t see what I should/can do with the avi’s generated (specular, shadow, etc..) .

Yo, try to keep less peaces that will speed up the render.

Also, speaking of sharing, there is a certain guy on youtube that is giving away your Transformers tutorial as if it was a template by making the text changeable within the program. He didn’t even give you any credit as the one that developed the effect. I know this is all knowledge sharing in the end but what happen’s when he starts doing it for all your tutorials?

Hey there, great tutorial, I appreciate it. But I have an issue, I have finished keyframing the explosions, but, when the letters are back in place, they look weird. it looks like there are still triangles that aren’t in place…..any ideas? thanks.

I watched the tutorial downloaded all the programs but i can’t make this work at all
Just the first step of adding the text messed me up, had no idea on sizes or anything and when i added the 3d part the inside of the text was missing like it was an outline!

Hey Alex I too am curious on why You can not edit the text in your project files. Did you do so on purpose so no one could steal this? Or is it something I am not doing right.

When i try to render your c4d file it says there is a texture missing. How do i replace this texture? Also how do i change the text? In your previous post it says “replace the spline under the extrude NURBS”. How do i do this. I am new to cinema 4d and adobe illustrator so I don’t have much experience.

I’m up to the step where you go to the content browser> materials> hdri, the only problem is I don’t have that hdri folder, I’ve got everything else but that! I looked it up and apparently it’s default, it shouldve came with the program, or is it because of the fact that I’m using the trial version?.You think you can help me out?

Alix, at the end when you move the big explosion up what are you setting it to in order to get everything to disappear before bringing in the other text? I am having a little bit of issue with that and my text never looks clean even after doing some of the things you hint at when the text still looks a little off after moving the explosion back. Any help would be awesome.
Great tutorial. I have same problem as few others. Explosion FX showing some effect even when “time” on “0″. Same with Big, left, right and centar Explosion FX object.

Hi. First of all I’d like to say thanks for doing these tutorials, they’re great. And to Ivan, i was having the same problem as you, after the animation was done the sign would still be just a little bit affected by explosion FX. I found a solution: keyframed the Cluster -> Thickness to 0m (or whatever unit you used), just when the explosion should have been finished. Hope this helps.

Wow you are brilliant! I will recommend this site for sure. Perhaps my request now is an annoying one seeing as a tutorial is supposed to allow people like me to produce this on our own – but C4D is making life difficult right now for my novice brain.
