SLOW MoDynamics
This is a example how powerfull can be your animation in 2-3 simple steps using Cinema 4D MoGraph and MoDynamics settings. With a little help from Destruction Plugin By Adam Swaab and GrayscaleGorilla. I showing the power of the volumetric lights and how great motiongraphic effect gives to your animation. I’ve been trying to get that effect, but when I hit the OK button on the destruction plug-in, my text disappears. I see the word chunks in the format box. Why?
hello guys. first of all exuse by terrific english, please. and im newbie in cinema, just a first steps.
i have CinemaR13Broadcast and when i open the project file i dont see the “SLOW” with applied effect, it doesnt shown in viewport and in render. but without effect the “SLOW” is visible, whats going on?

hi, im trying to use the destruction plugin, but when i press o.k to render it renders the chunks into nothing, completely blank…any ideas what i might be doing wrong? ive only got my iterations on 1 because my computer freezes if i put it on 2, do you think this is the reason??

You can check the rigit body tag and play with collision settings like bounce to get more crazy effect.
I thing that you say Error for the ruff edges in “O”, you can fix this like animating the pong angle.

Hi alexander, for the first, congratulations for your tutorials, we lern so much! well, i have a problem i use cinema 11 and i don’t have the tag ” solid body” on mograph so is possible to remplace it with other tag for make the tutorial?

You can try with dynamic like insert a solver object and put the parts from the logo inside without making them a one peace and add a gravity and the effect will be different
and everything will calculate veeeery slow, haha “slow”

Alexander, i was following your tut, but suddenly i realised that i can’t find mograph body tag, it only shows mograph cache and mograph selection, and therefore i cannot complete this tutorial.
Does it comes with cinema 4D modules by default , or i have to buy it?

there is a new “breaker” plug-in for C4D by Nitroman over at Motionworks that y’all might wanna look into that crashes less often and also works on ALL objects in C4D, whether they have been made editable or not, such as Mograph Text, splines, primitives etc., and it also adds a Mograph tag automatically, and you can also assign both inside and outside textures from scratch. check it out at http://www.motionworks.com.au/2010/02/xbreaker-for-cinema-4d/

You’ll need 11.5 for this option, now you can use connect and then manual delete the other objects

I have one question about ‘Rigid Body Tag’.
You made a explosion animation in this tutorial.
But I want to make reverse the explosion.
I mean make it in C4D. not ‘Time Remapping’ in After Effects.
I don’t have much experience in English.(I’m Korean)
So I respectfully apologize for my rough language.
For that effect better to use a effectors not a rigid body tag, that way you will have a control when and witch way logo goes

Dear Alexander,
I was very happy looking forward to your tutorial, but then I realized my version of Cinema 4D is only R11. I don’t have Mograph 2 either, so I don’t have the Rigid Body Tag…
I am kind of disappointed I cannot follow your tutorial, because I really wanted to learn this for a movie i am making.
I was wondering is there another way to do this in Mograph 1? like to explode the segments manually using keyframes and just rotating the pieces?

You can use phisics in dynamics menu – solver object an put inside the peaces and a gravity effector with – value

It’s easy to follow and very clear. BTW this is the 1st tutorial i ever watched for Cinema 4D im still a newbie at it but i got somewhat close to your final product.

I’ve managed to get to the point where I deconstructed stuff but weird thing happen…
I’ve deconstructed right part of the text and all went just fine, as on your tutorial. Right part tho…when I’m ready to deconstruct for smaller pieces it’s getting deleted instead of breaking into pieces.
I have no idea whats happening as I’m following your steps!

Hey man this is happening from the angle of the destruction plugin if there is no good point to make the additional parts and there is no connection to make a close plane so its delete by itself. Try with different seed number or start with different numbers of destructions also try with other angle or rotation method.
Hey alex how did you make your video like the one in the 2nd video?
After mine was finished in aftereffects the filesize is like 200+mb for a few seconds of video.
How do i make the filesize smaller without deteriorating the quality too much?
Nvmnd i solved it.
Just converted it to MPG4 and reduced the bitrate.

I followed each and every step in it…but I dont get the same result u get..
When u assign the rigid body tag and change the trigger to immediate and type to explode…when u hit the play button all the chunks falls down in gravity with ease.
But for me all the chunks bursts in air and then falls ..
cannot find what is wrong
Please help me out…me going nuts on this.

It’s about the implosion of the letters… when i shatter the whole thing, only one part of one letter starts to really moving while the whole rest is just “going with the flow”… I’ve tried your file and copying the tags but then all remains still….

Dude great tut i loved it but decided to make a variation using thrausi and modified some things in the tut, but it came out great! im just starting out with c4d and the quality is very bad, but it still looks very nice.

Sorry to ask a question a year after you posted this but I was really hoping that you could help me.
This is an amazing tutorial and I’m really glad that I came across this site! I’m relatively new to Cinema 4D and for the life of me I can’t get my text to break apart at all. I had to use Thrausi because Destruction wouldn’t work on my machine (Mac 10.6, Cinema 4D Studio R13) and I followed along with you perfectly, but my text (even though it’s been broken up and fractured) still acts like 1 object. Have you come across this or have any suggestions?
