One way to use basic Landscape with rock texture and get realistic landscape sceneIn this tutorial we going to create Landscape in Cinema 4D use MoGraph to create 3D text and random effector to shift the position and rotation of the letters. We will use camera settings to export Depth channel and use it in After Effects to simulate DOF using the lens blur effect.

My PC is nothing too fancy: Intel Quad 2,8, 8GB RAM video card 1gb and that’s it. You can get most expensive comp and still have render issues so try to find the balance between quality and render time
which model and brand of video card, or ATI NVIDEA??
I have a Core2Quad 9550, 8GB RAM 2.8ghz and more NVIDEA Cinema4D 9800GT 512mb but doing your tutorial the preview did not respond when you Hypernurbs in the number (text )….!!!
that’s why I’m changing the video card but not that model can work well … if you know can you tell me?

You have to be logged in vimeo.com to download the video, make a registration if you don’t have it is free. And in the right down you’ll se “download this video” right click and choose save as an you are don

I don’t have a problem with my hosting provider and I have good hosting plan, that’s help a lot

One question, how do you get the aec files to open in AFter Effects i copied the maxon plugin in the plugins folder of after effects but it got an error response ?!?
My advice is to save the project again after you copy the plugin. save it again in cinema and try again. If this do not work tri to import the aep project in to empty Ae project, just drag the aep to ae project panel.

Quick question……how come you never use GI or the advanced rendering engine that comes with C4D?
Just wondering…..I know it takes longer to render, I mean I am an avid Vray user so I know how crazy the render times can get and how flickery animations can be without proper IR settings……But i’m just wondering why you dont use it b/c your wonderful texts would look amazing as stills when using G.I.

Oh thanks really much , I dont know Cinema 4D is more complicated than After Effect or opposite.Because I am now using After Effect and it takes a very long time to understand it all from the interface to render.

Render in Ae is various , but i choose Quicktime Movie Player format with H264 Compress , cos that’s the best format and the lightest, very good for web.
Flv for web also is a good format

first off, greeaat tuts, thank you very much for sharing some of your knowledge with us, i would like to ask a question pleas, how can you make a text fit to an environement you want, per exemple, i have a street photo i just took, i want to put a 3D text and make it look like it real on that photo, only in C4D, no AE.

You can use same picture as a texture for sky object and use reflections on the text so the text will except the reflections and the light from the real picture, also you need to adjust the camera to fit your photo and fit the lights

Hey Alexander,is there a way you can update text in the Cinema 4D project files you give us for download? For example in AE i can just go into the text precomp and adjust the text to fit my needs.How do i do it in Cinema 4D.I would like to use the Terminator project for a quick project am working on.Will be glad is there is a way.Thanks
You have to check is this a if the words are MoGraph text or spline and you can replace it

let me ask you this , I could see your render in this tutorial, when you rendered, it rendered with more than 2 squares.My computer just got 2 squares to render,how can you do that?you have a plugin to increase the amount of squares?

yes I think so, your computer must be core quad , 4 CPUs.I wish there were a plug in for that.
Hi Alex, I just bought a DOSCH product name 3D landscape,when i opened them, exactly the C4D project, I saw the 3D objects such as trees , bushes…then I opened the data I saw the LWO files , do you know what these files?And is there any resource for these 3D objects?
I dont know exacly this is formats supported by some 3D programs, if someone know something more let us know here

when i hit render to picture viewer i did everything thing according to you but when it was finally rendered to quicktime movie format my files dont animate when i open them on quicktime its just like a picture it doesnt animate
